Tap or Nap: Jean Richards vs Kevin Derek

After throwing his hips to the side, for the briefest of moments Jean worried that he hadn't produced enough force and that he'd have try some other move, but as luck would have it they teetered over the tipping point and successfully fell to the wayside. And while the landing was slightly rough, Jean made sure to take advantage of the position and start giving the leg scissors 110%.

He didn't end up having long to squeeze the life from Kevin before he started pushing up on one side. He shoved off on one side and managed to flip them both over. Maintaining the integrity of the hold was definitely a different ballgame from on his chest, but Jean did his best to keep it going. There was no doubt that it was a good deal less effective, but he didn't care. This move worked better the longer you held it, and Jean was going to squeeze every last ounce of it out that he could.

"GRAAAAHHHHHHH ... LET GO DUDE!"

Kevin growling out his protest as Jean's legs keep their grip even after making the roll to their stomachs. His ab wall starting to weaken and for the fist time in a long time his lungs start to burn from the long held squeeze in around his core.

Fighting to stay with his labored but still possibly effective escape plan, he presses up on his hands and begins to use the new position to pivot his body into a half situp / half sitting position. His muscled arms flexing as he pushes his body up more and more and begins to bend his opponents legs and deleverage the scissors. Going for a change up to escape the scissors and slip quickly into a boston crab if he can work the transition properly under the strain of the scissors.

The way that Jean had initially latched on his bodyscissors and then knocked them over, combined with Kevin's flip over to face first, meant that Kevin's lower half rested atop Jean's back. This gave him a great advantage in that it basically set up a boston crab for him, all he had to do was grab on.

"Argh, shit!" he cursed all too late.

Jean became painfully aware of just how much a losing battle his refusal to end the bodyscissors was Kevin started to push up and grab onto his legs. The more Kevin got up, the more Jean's legs bent backwards and started to hurt, and the more they transitioned into a real boston crab. Gritting his teeth in pain, Jean digs his hands into the canvas and tries to claw his way free, hoping to pull out before it got locked in completely.

Kevin's face red and his breathing more rapid that what he is accustomed to in matches of this type due to the after effects of the long held and tight body scissor from his opponent's leather clad legs.

"NNNGHHH ... GOTCHA!"

Grunting out as he gets up into a sitting position for a moment on Jean's butt and starts to pull back on both legs to get them properly tucked under his arms. With the hold properly transitioned, he flexes his back, core and legs to start putting on some pressure. Short bursts at first with his core still needing some rebuild time from the scissor.

"Hold still and tap dude"

Smirking back at Jean with some instructions as he tries to hang onto the hold slightly off center in the ring. Jean's hands pulling and inching them along toward the ropes.

Jean felt his legs sink in to Kevin's grip beneath his arms. The pressure really started to build up when he sat on Jean's ass, forcing his waist to the mat while his legs were yanked the other way. Needless to say, a boston crab was not fun to be on the receiving end of.

"Nghhh.....gahhh.....ngh...."

He groaned in real pain as Kevin called for him to tap out. As someone who prided himself as a submission wrestler, there was no way he was going to give in right here and now, least of all not at this level of pain. With one eye shut in pain and concentration, Jean focused everything he had into digging centimeter by centimeter into the canvas, getting closer and closer to the ropes. He outstretched his hand in desperation, but he was still short by a few centimeters.

"Just....a little....furtherrrrr!" Jean panted in exertion. He was so close, and he knew he could make it if Kevin just kept focusing applying the hold and not placement, he just needed a bit more time!

"Like pain do ya? Cool with me."

Kevin's body still feeling the effects of the long body scissor but his confidence along with his trash talk healing just find due to his current position.

The boston crab settling in on his skilled opponent and he intends on working it to it's full potential.

"GRAAHHH ... I SAID GIVE IT UP!"

Growling out some as he lean back to put more pressure on the hold. Jean's back bowing some under the strain.

"Like hell I will!" Jean shouted back as he stretched his arm to the max, desparately trying to reach the ropes and his salvation. Kevin pulled his legs up even higher and was leaning back, putting all the pressure on Jean's waist and back and turning it up a notch.

He briefly tried kicking out to break Kevin's grip but found that strategy to be useless, as it only sent twangs of pain through his body. And still he kept pushing himself to bear with it. After his humiliating loss in his debut match, Jean had deliberately done training to increase his pain threshold. Even with that training though a submission hold done right could melt even the strongest of wills, and he was afraid Kevin was pushing him to that.

In a last ditch effort, Jean took everything he had and threw his upper half upwards towards the rope, fingers outstretched for the goal. His fingers brushed the rope and for a moment, his heart sunk when it felt like his hand was going to slip. Luckily however his fingers managed to curl just enough to snag the rope into his palm. Jean breathed a huge sigh of relief when the rope and the ref started calling for a break.

"FEELING LIKE TAPPIN YET DUDE?"

Big cocky smirk on Kevin's face as he leans back into the hold and keeps the pressure coming. Working to bend Jean's back as far as possible until the fans yell out and he looks back with a frustrated look on his face when he sees that his opponent has made it to the ropes.

"DAMN IT!"

Releasing the hold and driving a quick stomp of frustration into the softened up back on the mat below him. Getting a loud round of protest from the fans and backing away to get set for his next attack.

"Get up so I can knock you back down man"

What was supposed to be Jean's moment of respite was cut short when Kevin slammed a foot into his back, making him cringe and arch up his back. Jean glared at Kevin as he grasped his aching back, pulling himself up onto wobbly feet. So it was going to be like that, eh? He wouldn't have pegged Kevin as the type, but at least it put more of the audience on his side.

"If I recall, I was the one to knock you down to begin with" Jean shot back at him, twisting his torso side to side and shaking out his legs. He nodded to the ref that he was ready to hit things off again, and the match was officially underway once more.

Jean was wary of making a sudden offense while his legs were still recuperating, so he decided to play it safe and start circling, buying as much time as he could.

Kevin's body inching forward to crowd Jean even before the ref backed away to single the all clear for things to continue. Obvious that he is anxious to get back into a tie up where he can keep his momentum going and limit his opponents ability to recover from the crab.

His hands quick reach down and rub over the red streaks that are still showing on his ribs from the long held scissor as the two toned bodies circle in the center of the ring.

"Whatcha doing dude .. runnin?"

Kevin watches Jean's face as he eggs him on and then fakes low to get his opponent's arms to drop. HUNNGHH .. stepping in with a body bump and then snaps his arm around for a tight side headlock.
