Grudge Match: Captain America v Winter Soldier (Cosplay)

To say that Dave was a wreck was an understatement. Ever since he and Jean had broke up after he believed to have caught Jean cheating on him, he had barley left the house. Mostly he only went out to go grocery shopping. He worked out at home, and slept. His heart felt hollow now, and nothing has made him smile. The only reason he agreed to this match was so that he could pay his bills. He found no joy in this after what happened.

Fitting the helmet over his head, he remembered his manager calling him a week ago, telling him that he signed Dave up for a cosplay match, and it was not an option. Dave tried to argue, but it was no use....and here he was, dressed in his Captain America stealth suit ready to fight. In his right hand he held a ring safe version of the shield, made of lightweight metal and the edges were padded fore safety.

He heard the theme music for Cap playing and Dave sighed once more, putting on a game face as he ran to the ring, sliding in and raising a hand. The crowd roared in response, whether it was out of excitement or patriotic pride he did not know. He turned toward the stage, where his opponent was to appear.

Dave Blake and Cosplay:

Shortly after all the fanfare from Captain America's entrance, all the lights in the arena went out at once. A dark and slightly creepy tune started to play over the speaker, and white and red lights formed the shape of a red star inside a white circle in the center of the stage. Trap doors on the stage moved away to reveal a slowly rising platform, bringing the Winter Soldier in full uniform right into the center of the star. The arena's lights came back up and the crowd went nuts as the Winter Soldier started to slowly walk down to the ring. The audience began to speculate wildly about the identity of the second cosplayer, his face was well hidden behind the facemask.

The Winter Soldier ascended the metal stairs on the corner of the ring, his boots making loud noise as he entered the ring. It was impossible to tell what sort of facial expression he was wearing, but it was clear from his body language that he meant business.

The Winter Soldier adjusted his fingerless glovse and his head turned slowly to nod to the ref signaling he was ready. He bent his knees and assumed a fighting stance, clearly ready to fight.

Winter Soldier Cosplay:

Dave tried to keep his inner fanboy in check as he held his shield. Weapons were allowed, ut aside from what he had, he wasn't planning on grabbing anything else. Nodding to the ref, he got into his ready stance.

Ding Ding Ding!

Dave tapped into his anger, all the pent up emotion from the past few weeks, and hurled the shield at the Winter Soldier, sending it flying at the man's chest. He didn't even wait to see if it made impact, following it and jumping into the air, hoping to catch his opponent with a knee to the chest.

The Winter Soldier didn't flinch as the shield was hurled at him like a frisbee. Instead he reached out with the metal arm and caught the shield very dramatically, unintentionally mirroring the scene from the movie. The audience seemed to pick up on this and went nuts, starting to think that maybe the match was choreographed to match the cosplay.

There was not much time for them to speculate, however, as the Winter Soldier quickly adapted to his new weapon and donned the shield, bringing it up to block the high knee thrown by David. He quickly followed up by thrusting the shield forward and bashing him in the chest with it to knock him back.

The Winter Soldier tossed the shield aside, letting it skid across the ring and out into the apron surrounding the ring. Reeling the metallic arm back, the Winter Soldier threw a left hook aimed at David's chin.

Dave grunted as he was shoved back, rolling to his feet as the Winter Soldier made his way forward, throwing his metal arm in a right hook. Dave ducked back, before throwing a rapid series of punches into his foe's face, and driving an elbow into the man's chest, hoping to knock him back.

The Winter Soldier was jostled by the first punch to the mask but quickly reacted to the series, bringing his arms up to deflect further punches and protect his face without so much as a grunt. With his arms up he was unable to see the elbow nor block it from knocking him back, making him stumble a few steps before recollecting his balance.

Again the Winter Soldier struck his fighting pose, leading with the metallic arm so that the red star was displayed quite prominently to both his opponent and the crowd. He reached behind him with his normal and into his toolbelt and pulled out what would have normally been his combat knife, and instead have been replaced by a low voltage taser. It had been modified to deliver a painful burst similar to being electrocuted, but not outright immobilize in the heart of fairness.

Clicking the trigger on the taser, electricity arced between the tips. The Winter Soldier sprung forward, coming at David with the taser from above and going for a strike at the neck.

Dave's eyes widened when he saw the Winter Soldier pull out the taser and lunge at him. Too late, he misjudged the angle and cried out as he felt the painful arcs of electricity course through his body, causing his nerves to feel like they are on fire.

After a few second, he grabbed the man's wrist, pulling it to the side, before striking him in the jaw with an open palm. He followed that up with a spinning kick to the chest, sending his opponent reeling backwards.

The Winter Soldier had no obvious reaction to the successful tasering of his opponent. As he cried out, he retracted the weapon and his arm lunged again to strike but his wrist was caught. As he struggled with his opponent for control of it, he was caught unprepared with a palm to the jaw, throwing the taser from his grip. The weapon slid across the ring and settled at the bottom of the turnbuckle.

The Winter Soldier brought his arms up to block the spinning kick but the force was more than his stance could handle; he stumbled back a few steps before it overwhelmed him and he fell down. He quickly rolled over his back and onto his knees, quickly scanning for his opponent's next move.

Dave tried to steady his breathing. That shot with the taser hurt like a bitch, even with the padded outfit. He needed to get to his shield, so then he could at least have an advantage.

Dave moved toward his opponent, striking him with a vicious kick to the chest to knock him on his back, before dropping an elbow onto his exposed and vulnerable torso, driving the blow home with all his weight behind it. Hoping to seize the initiative, Dave slammed his gloved fist into the man's side.

The Winter Soldier managed to guard himself with his arms rather than get kicked in the torso, but being in a crouch, he was vulnerable still to be knocked down. The elbow drop into his torso got the first audible reaction out of him in the match; he gasped slightly for air.

And finally David's gloved fist rammed into his side, but it wasn't going anywhere afterwards. The Winter Soldier used both forearms to pin David's forearm against him, heaving his lower half up off the mat and crossing his ankles on the other side of his arm to secure a nice armbar. The Winter Soldier stretched and pulled the arm as far as possible, pushing at David's shoulder with his boots to increase the amount of force.
